About Habiko

The plans for Academy Way, Warrington are being brought forward by Habiko – a joint venture made up of three partners; Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC), Muse and Homes England with a vision of developing affordable, low-carbon and low-energy homes in order to unlock a better future for the environment and for the communities within which it works.

Combining insight, capital and expertise, Habiko provides lasting, positive social impact through the delivery of affordable, energy-efficient homes for rent.

PIC

The purpose of the Pension Insurance Corporation is to pay the pensions of its current and future policyholders. PIC guarantees the pensions of about 350,000 people and has a portfolio of almost £50 billion from which to pay them. PIC will use their balance sheet to forward fund Habiko’s new homes.

Muse

The nationwide placemaker Muse has over 40 years’ experience of creating beautiful, diverse and sustainable places that are people centred, high quality and built to last. Muse is the placemaking delivery partner for Habiko.

Muse will source sites, bring forward planning applications and site infrastructure plans and deliver the new homes.

Homes England

Homes England is the government’s housing and regeneration agency. Together with their partners, they drive the creation of more affordable, quality homes and thriving places so that everyone has a place to live and grow.

They make this happen by working with thousands of organisations of all sizes, using their powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and get more quality homes built. Homes England will invest alongside PIC and Muse, helping Habiko deliver more homes across the country.
